HEUREKA PROJECT

HEUREKA Project – Civil Protection Knowledge Partnership Platform Middle East was a project funded by the European Commission aiming at bridging across knowledge holders relevant to disaster management and humanitarian aid actors, to enhance coordination, cooperation, compatibility, and complementarity between available capacities. It is a bridge between the different actors in the field of work, between the European Union and its Southern Neighbourhood, specifically the Middle East. The project included 9 partners from Austria, Cyprus, Palestine, and Lebanon. HEUREKA collected and shared knowledge, experience, expertise, skills, competencies, lessons learned, and best practices in close cooperation with civil protection and disaster management authorities as well as knowledge holders from the public and private sector, to stimulate research and innovation and a shared understanding of prevention, preparedness and response.

PDEX JIP PROJECT

Professional Dialogue Exercises – Jordan Israel Palestine Project had the overall aim to improve civil protection preparedness and response inside and outside the Member States of the EUCP Mechanism by providing a testing environment and a learning opportunity for all actors involved. The sub-region of Jordan, Israel and Palestine is a unique training environment of outermost interest for the UPCM. The project assessed the disaster risk reduction situation, developed joint Standing Operating Procedures and held joint planning conferences, implement a Table-Top Exercise (TTX) training Host Nation Support (HNS) in a specific environment and performed a Joint Full-Scale Exercise (FSX), provided an Evaluation that includes a Lessons Learned process and recommendations for the Way ahead.

Civil Protection Review Serbia

The purpose of Comparative Review of the Legal and Strategic Framework of Civil Protection system in Serbia and the EU was to identify areas of legal and strategic framework of Republic of Serbia that require further alignment with EU requirements. Set of clear and detailed recommendations on how to better align legal and strategic framework of Republic of Serbia with EU requirements related to Civil Protection were concrete objective and output of this Project. The scope of this Review were high level strategic documents of Republic of Serbia and legislation at the state level.

RESPONSEE PROJECT

RESPONSEE Project, funded by the European Comission analyzed disaster risk reduction capacities of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, organized an international disaster exercise and training and provided recommendations for strengthening of legal framework of the countries in the region. One of the cross-cutting topics of the project was focus on vulnerable categories.

FORMATEX PROJECT

FORMATEX Project aimed to improve capacities of local communities, agencies and emergency services in disaster risk reduction as mechanism of climate change adaptation. It focuses on emergency response and management during complex multi hazard events with a focus on CBRN hazards and environmental pollution.

IDMEX Project

The project aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness and management capacities of Albania, Ghana and Caribbean  countries. Project was achieved through simulation and table top disaster exercises practicing emergency response of structures at strategic and operational levels including inter-agency cooperation. The project was funded by the European Commission.

PIX Project

Through this project a full-scale exercise in Nepal was designed, planed, managed, conducted, and evaluated in collaboration with another already scheduled project and plug in a Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) response assistance element into it.  The exercise tested and improved the coordination of a UCPM response in the chosen country. It improved interoperability, communication, and cooperation between the incoming teams and the host nation, on strategic, national as well as local and operational level – taking into account the role of the major humanitarian organizations and the UN.

TRAINING AND EDUCATION

Resilience Solutions International offers wide range of available trainings such as: Training of medical staff on disaster preparedness and biosafety, Lectures on disaster risk management and business continuity management, Trainings on climate change and disaster risk reduction, Crisis and staff management trainings, Crisis communication trainings, etc. Through our training and education activities so far we have trained over 500 disaster risk reduction professionals and clients.
