CROSSFLOOD Hosts Main Planning Conference in Siret, Romania

From 25–28 November 2025, the EU funded CROSSFLOOD Project consortium convened in Siret and Suceava (Romania) for the Main Planning Conference, marking a major milestone in preparing the project’s full-scale cross-border flood response exercise. The event brought together national authorities, EU partners, and international experts, ensuring that the upcoming exercise meaningfully supports improved cooperation, coordination, and resilience across borders.

A key component of the meeting was the extensive field visit across multiple operational sites, including Siret, Suceava, Lake Bucecea, Lake Lipoveni, and training area north of the Siret River.

Looking ahead, participants consolidated the way forward for finalising the exercise design and advancing the project’s broader capacity-building elements, including training, knowledge exchange, and preparedness planning. With strong engagement across all partners, CROSSFLOOD continues to build momentum toward a comprehensive, high-value exercise in 2026, designed not only to test operational response, but to strengthen long-term disaster resilience, cross-border collaboration, and shared European preparedness.
